چکیده

Sewage wastewater is one of the richest sources mineral nutrients contributing toward plant growth and yield. However, accumulation heavy metals in edible parts vegetables fruits can be dangerous to life. The current research aimed evaluate performance a sand column filter for elimination from sewage applied selected vegetables. contents metals, i.e., Pb+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, Fe+2, were estimated higher untreated than treated water. number leaves, fresh dry weights roots, total biomass lettuce, carrot, cauliflower improved due irrigation unfiltered compared wastewater. curd diameter, curd, stem weight cauliflower, root length diameter carrot increased after with comparison was In present study, Cd+2 Cr+2 concentrations not affected by filtration process through filter. Conclusively, effective removal used irrigate agricultural land.

Accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals in lettuce grown in the soils contaminated with long-term wastewater irrigation.

Accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heavy metals (HMs) by crop plants from contaminated soils may pose health risks. A greenhouse pot experiment using lettuce (Lactuca satuva L.) as a representative vegetable was conducted to assess the concentrations of PAHs and HMs in vegetables grown in wastewater-contaminated soils. The concentrations of total PAHs were ranged from 1...
